Presidential Commission to look into past Central Bank functions

President Gotabaya Rajapaksa has signified his approval for a Presidential Commission of Inquiry to delve into violation in the administration, management and functions of the Central Bank including fraudulent transactions that had been entered into by the government or public officials during the last few years.

The Commission which will be headed by retired Supreme Court judge K.T.

Chitrasiri has been tasked with three months to furnish their report and recommendations.
